This is an awesome printer if you know what you are ordering. Most of the Negative reviews are because people don't know what they are ordering. This is a printer with a POWER PLUS USB connection, It needs a special cable that when connected to the computer powers the printer and transmits to the PC through one cable. Which means you don't need to use an extra power slot for the printer which is really nice, however the computer you connect it to needs a special card that has 24V Powered USB ports for it to plug into. Granted for some reason the Epson Powered USB cables are difficult to find. you can search for Epson Powered USB Cable here on amazon (Ignore the pictures because they all seem to use a regular usb cable picture but if it says Epson powered usb cable and it's over $30 then chances are it's what you want). Probably won't find one with Prime shipping though. But the versatility of this printer is nice in that you can also use a regular power supply and regular USB cable with it if you need to. (You would have to buy the PS180 power supply and the regular printer usb cable separately).. The printer itself is very fast and crisp clean printing.I have several of the TM-T88V Printers and I clicked on the wrong Item number this time. I LOVE the printer but this Item uses Power Plus USB ONLY. What that means it has a special cable (not included) that you have to have to run this printer. It says that it has a USB port on the back but that port is covered by a metal Plate to cover the hole that should have the port. There is also No Port for a cash drawer. I could not seem to find that Power Plus USB cable so I was forced to purchase a Power Supply and a USB interface Card to get the printer to work. I dropped another $200. If you do not know what Power Plus USB is you should NOT get this printer. They do have a fully functional option for this printer and I would highly recommend getting that one.Buyer beware. This printer is very hit and miss. The connectivity technology was advertised as Ethernet; USB. IT arrived with the interface in the attached photo. After readying WAY below the initial headings it was mentioned in the small print that a special interface on the PC. Sellers of this printer need to post images of the interface to avoid wasted time and confusion. However... I have used these printers, and if you get the correct interface they are great little printers.These are nice printers BUT this is not a TM-T88V-834 which is what most people are probably looking for!Don't buy!I work installing POS systems for restaurant and I bought this item and I was tricked due to the title that says power plus usb. This item does not come with power supply and it does not come with USB connection. Now I look bad in front of my customer because of this crap.Printer was a repacked item and with a power supply for a Zebra printer that of course will not work with this Epson POS printer. Wow! No good with out the power supply. Can you send me the power supply!?The printer was advertised as a USB and RS-232. But, when I got it it was only serial. It came without power supply. Wasted my time to return and buy a new perimeter from the eBayOver the years, we have used various versions of this printer, and never had a single issue. These printers are reliable, and work the same way years later as they day out of the box.
