I use my Lenovo Yoga laptop as a media center for our television viewing. My intention is to use this docking station to access 4 different high capacity USB 3.X hard discs, ethernet, and use my television as an extended desktop for my laptop. I was a bit surprised by the weight of the docking station (and the hefty, 180W power supply)! The docking station weighs almost 1kg!, whereas the power supply weighs about 600g. I connected the hub up to my laptop. I especially like the secured USB-C connecting cable to the hub. This feature will help ensure that the connector isn't easily disconnected, or broken off at the hub. I connected 4 USB-A 3.0 drives, a Cat-7 cable for my network connection, and an HDMI cable (20') connected to my Samsung TV (as an extended desktop display). The TV was connected with the appropriate resolution (3840x2160). The USB and Network connections worked well. Most importantly to me, the hub operated at a cool to the touch temperature. I have used other hubs that would get quite warm under heavy use. While this docking station is quite expensive, it certainly has a lot to offer. If you have a USB 4.0 capable laptop, you can use a compatible docking station. I tested the transfer speed between the computer to a connected hard drive with the Wavlink (USB 3.0), compared to a USB 4.0 docking station. The speed difference was about 4 times higher with the USB 4.0!
